Fossil Agatized Coral is Florida's state stone, found in the Withlacoochee River, Econ River, Honeymoon Island, and the Tampa Bay area. Formed in ancient ocean beds, silica-rich groundwater has replaced its calcium carbonate skeleton with chalcedony, giving it a banded stone look. This coral is about 38-25 million years old from the Oligocene-Miocene period. In hollow spaces, agate can develop botryoidal shapes and sometimes have druzy quartz coating.
Metaphysically, Agatized Coral is believed to bring inner peace, strengthen connections with nature, and enhance feelings of well-being.
